Youth Meetup

When: 3rd Sunday of every month
Time: 8:30 am -10:30 am

Participants get the opportunity to learn the Buddha’s Teachings from the original Scriptures weekly topic wise. We will begin with some Pali chanting (We have chanting books with the translation), followed by a guided meditation.

After the program, at 10:30 there is a chance to get to know the other participants, help serve the meal to the monks, and volunteer cleaning the residence. If you stay after the meal there is the chance to speak with the monks.

Even if you are just visiting Sri Lanka, we would love to have you join us. The program is conducted by venerable monks of Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monasteries.

All of our activities are free of charge and made possible through the generous donations of people living here in Colombo.

Approximate program schedule:

8.30 am – Going refuge to Triple Gem and observing five precepts
8.40 am – Dhamma sermon (Talk on the Buddha’s Teachings)
9.40 am – Tea Break
10.00 am – Guided & Silent Meditation
10.30 am – Close of event. Participants are welcome to stay to help serve dana, meet monks, and volunteer with chores around the residence.

Participation is free of charge and refreshments are provided by volunteers.
