Endless Expectations

Question! What are your endless expectations? Do they make you happy or sad when they aren’t fulfilled? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Endless Expectations

Thinking and day dreaming of scenarios in our mind
Of all great things we hope the future finds.
Happiness and joy and everything in between
For the expectations that we create that make us naïve
Hoping and wishing can make our lives sour,
When the reality of live over powers.
For who can predict what tomorrow will hold,
Only the wise know we have no control.
Fuming by night and flaming by day,
We waste our lives by thinking astray.
With Dhamma knowledge make yourself wise
To guard yourself from disappointment and sighs.
Think in the present and live in the moment,
For mindfulness will bring the greatest enjoyment.
